Long short story

Long short stories are a great compromise between novels and short short fiction. This new collection of long short stories, Human Resources , published by Tin House Books in April 2007, is comprised of 8 long short stories, each of which has previously appeared in one of the finest journals in the country, for example, Mid-American Review, New England Review, the Sewanee Review, and ZYZZYVA.

In the 6 years it took our author to write this book of short fiction, he slowly learned the difference between long short stories and long-winded short stories. In fact, after having many of these hilarious stories rejected for many years, he eventually cut about 2000 words from each story. Within 6 months, all of his stories had been published and his book of long short stories had been accepted by the wonderful Tin House Books. Good times!

Please take a look through the rest of this site, and especially at the many reviews this book has garnered. For longer stories and tales, which still fit under the umbrella of short stories, Human Resources is a great choice. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll engage in deviant acts. It will be a hoot!
