Best short story

Now I can't say for sure that these are the best short stories, but certainly, this collection of short stories, Human Resources has to be somewhere in the top billion best short stories ever written. It could be even higher than that, but heck, I'm the author so what kind of a louse would I be to claim a higher ranking than that?

Publishers Weekly, however, in their starred review of his short story collection, has said the following about my best short stories:

"The seven far-out short stories in the author's impressive debut explore the absurd without giving in to it. Admirably, this new writer roams widely and erratically, from surfers living on an exclusive beachfront ("Maryville, California, Pop. 7") to a bizarre set of contemporary pirates who give up robbing yachts to join a pirate-busting agency ( "Nautical Intervention"). Goldfaden is an undeniable talent."

Now were they saying that these were the best short stories that they've ever read? I think that was implied. It was implied only a tiny tiny bit, however. So tiny, that they themselves might not even have known they were implying it. So small that they probably weren't implying it. In any case, whether they're the best or not, check out this collection of short stories. My mother insists they're the best American short stories, and that the collection as a whole is the best book ever, and they certainly make a great gift idea.
